Here’s a list of questions that we frequently get asked. Below are our answers to these. If you have any new ones, please contact us and we may add them.
This does depend on the condition of your muscles, but a good quality sports therapist will always ask for your feedback as some people don’t have a high pain threshold. We don’t want you to suffer in agony unnecessarily.
That depends on factors such as the type of treatment and how long you take for pre/post massage changing. Please refer to the below FAQ "Why do you state clinic time for appointments and not treatment time?".
Generally we ask every client to wear a pair of shorts. If you’re a female please wear a standard bra/bikini top. Your modesty will be covered at all times in the clinic.
We use coconut oil and Songbird sports massage wax. Both are good for the skin as well as smelling nice and enhancing your massage treatment and experience.
Yes, although everybody will react differently. There are many contra-actions to a massage treatment and if you have any concerns you should contact us or your GP.
Again, yes this can be a normal reaction for some people. Some people bruise easily, some don’t. If you do it’s always a good thing to let us know but we have to sometimes do what we have to do within a treatment. Using an ice pack for 5-15 min every 3 hours will help reduce any bruising and swelling. Always ensure ice is never in direct contact with your skin.
Basically you pay for the time spent in the clinic. The quicker a client gets undressed for a treatment the more treatment time they will receive. The Media Centre do not provide our clients with an appropriate seated waiting area, therefore clients have to stand if they arrive too early for appointments or if any appointments over run which can be frustrating and uncomfortable for them. If we restrict time to 'clinic time' and not 'treatment time', this ensures all treatments can finish on time. Some businesses may state treatment time of 60 min, but they will tend to include pre/post changing and payment taking into this time, we are just honest and make it all clear.
This ensures people turn up for their appointments! We've had issues with an online booking system over the years with 'fake' bookings, this helps put a stop to this. If someone wishes to book, pay and not turn up, we don't lose out. Please be aware of the terms and conditions of making a booking on our 'Prices' page.
Yes we do. There is a £5 extra charge and you must contact us to book this 01484 500241 as a mobile treatment cannot and should not be made through our booking system.
Answer to this is no. We do not accept any work experience or work placement students, this is our preference. We work in partnership with www.nextgenerationtraining.co.uk and have our own students to look after.
